Episode Four: The Devil’s Music
It’s Tuesday, December 2, 2008. That means it’s exam season, and like many of our listeners, we’re feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment. Luckily for you, that makes it a great time for us to do a full show dedicated to one of the cornerstones of popular music, the blues. But our aim is to explore a broader definition of the blues than most people would normally associate with the genre. Of course we’ll tackle classic delta blues artists like Son House, and the heavily blues influenced early rock n’ roll of Chuck Berry, but we’ll also be covering tracks by Bruce Springsteen, Feist, and even the Talking Heads that capture the spirit of the blues.
