Episode Nine: It’s a New Year!
Today is Tuesday, January 6, 2009 and it’s our first show of 2009. Now that all the confetti has fallen and the balloons are all popped, it’s back to business. This year, we’ve resolved to play an even wider variety of music, bringing you the best of yesterday, today, and tommorow? Nevertheless, this week’s programme features outstanding tracks from alt. rock pioneers Husker Du, the Sultan of Soul Sam Cooke, and the late Big Star co-founder Chris Bell. We’ll delve into electronica with fantastic songs from Tom Vek and Ratatat. Department of Eagles also chime in with their wagon caravanesque, spooky, orchestral folk piece, “No One Does It Like You,” and Dan & Nick discuss the merits of Conservapedia.
