Episode 10: Something Special
Today is Tuesday, January 13, 2009, which means it’s Wayne Coyne’s 48th birthday. If the celebration comes anywhere near the extravagance of a Flaming Lips show, it’s sure to be the party of the decade. It also happens to be our 10th episode here at Stuck Between Stations and we’ve got a great lineup of songs queued up for your listening pleasure this fine day. Things kick off with a bang with T. Rex’s primal glam rock joyride, “Metal Guru”, and don’t let up with killer tracks from The Hentchmen, Sonic Youth, and The Black Lips. Stay tuned for a selection of folkier fare from the likes of Gordon Lightfoot and the Grateful Dead, not to mention a band otherwise known as “Formerly New Zealand’s fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo.”
