Hey Students and Community Members of CIVL Radio!

Coming up the Lower Mainland and Vancouver and in conjunction with the Cultural Olympiad, there will be some free concerts. There will be two venues, LiveCIty Yaletwon and The Surrey 2010 Celebration Site. Both will be highlighting some of the best talent from Canada from near and far.

LiveCity Yaletown

On the water’s edge at David Lam Park. LiveCity Yaletown will feature live local, national, and international entertainment on the main stage in the afternoon and into the night, culminating each evening with a dynamic nightly closing show. Giant screens will show highlights of Olympic Winter Games sport coverage and visitors can enjoy the interactive Olympic sponsor pavilions, Vancouver House, and much more… all for free!

So CIVLians! We hope you have time to get out and enjoy some of these great Canadian artists during the winter games.

New Show on satyuday night was telekinisis and Cut off your hands and Ra ra Riot

Cut off your hands

Amazing band straight out of New zeland. Richards on richards was their first stop in canada on their tour. They are a great band with a i guess you could say newzeland/british feel. You can Check out Telekinesis at their my space which i recommend because they are amazing and cool fact they are very close to home being from Seattle Washington just south of the boarder from Civl Radio. chris walla was also involved in making their new record which is exciting. take a listen on their myspace www.myspace.com/telekinesismusic . Random fact their lead singer is actually the drummer for the band, and the kit was set up in the very front of the Stage. cool beans. After the Set i saw the lead singer traving around the club and i got to meet him.

unfortunatly i did not get to catch Ra ra Riot but im sure they were amazing as ushual.

now rather than just listening to death cab and many other tracks related to just one type of music all the shows are broader. every week i hope to bring you something new and of course something old,and of course with time music changes but for now because its the holiday season we are keeping it to holiday flavor.
