I cannot seem to gush enough about Vancouver’s Hannah Georgas. With her fantastic new album “This Is Good” coming out today, why stop now?
This upbeat indie pop is ridiculously infectious while the inherent sweetness of Georgas’ music is tempered by her severely honest lyrics about life, love and the human condition. Her songs are solidly based around her acoustic guitar and soaring vocals.
Hannah Georgas puts out music which is very reminiscent of Cat Power and Bats for Lashes, but with splashes of dance punk, west coast folk, and even a little whimsical new wave. Tracks like “Dancefloor” demands at minimum head-bobbing, while “Chit Chat” and “Bang Bang You’re Dead” will instantly become lodged in your brain.
