2009 Polaris Prize :: Shortlist Revealed
Tuesday, July 7th, 2009Perhaps the one music award that I genuinely care about. It’s the 4th Annual Polaris Music Prize. Trumping the Junos for legitness, The Polaris Prize in previous years has been bestowed upon Canadian excellence such as Final Fantasy’s “He Poos Clouds” and Patrick Watson’s “Closer to Paradise.”
Mr. Watson is back on the shortlist for the 2009 run of the Polaris. Along with the latest from Malajube, Fucked Up, Joel Plaskett and 6 others. Here is the list.
Elliott BROOD: Mountain Meadows
Fucked Up: The Chemistry Of Common Life
Great Lake Swimmers: Lost Channels
Hey Rosetta!: Into Your Lungs (and around your heart and on through your blood)
K’NAAN: Troubadour
Malajube: Labyrinthes
Metric: Fantasies
Joel Plaskett: Three
