CIVL Locals Invade Halifax
Friday, October 23rd, 2009Almost a century ago, the Halifax harbour witnessed the largest accidental explosion in human history. This event known as the Halifax Explosion happened in 1917 and it flattened the shoreline adjacent to the harbour section known as the Narrows.
Today a music festival annually pays tribute to this event two weeks after Canadian thanksgiving. Entitled the Halifax Pop Explosion, this festival happens October 20-24 and will feature artists local to CIVL. Making a strong showing for BC at the Halifax Pop Explosion are: Said the Whale, Hannah Georgas, Yukon Blonde, Carpenter, Dan Mangan, The Pack A.D., Japandroids, and You Say Party! We Say Die!
