From Chilliwack, Whitey is now based in Vancouver
Friday night in Chilliwack BC, be sure to check out party rockers Whitey who are playing with The Black Doves. If you have not heard of Whitey, they have been rocking the stages in the Lower Mainland since the early 2000s and they even have a UFV Visual Arts Grad, Colin Watchhorn, in their ranks.
Doors open at 9 p.m. and the show goes until 2 a.m. Be sure to check it out!

On Wednesday, June 2, 2010 Whitey will be playing at the Rock Out! To Conquer Cancer benefit concert at the Railway Club in Vancouver, BC. The show is to raise money for the Ride to Conquer Cancer which is a two day, 260 km long bicycle ride from Vancouver to Seattle with a view to raise money and awareness for the BC Cancer Foundation. Almost a century ago, the Halifax harbour witnessed the largest accidental explosion in human history. This event known as the Halifax Explosion happened in 1917 and it flattened the shoreline adjacent to the harbour section known as the Narrows.
Today a music festival annually pays tribute to this event two weeks after Canadian thanksgiving. Entitled the Halifax Pop Explosion, this festival happens October 20-24 and will feature artists local to CIVL. Making a strong showing for BC at the Halifax Pop Explosion are: Said the Whale, Hannah Georgas, Yukon Blonde, Carpenter, Dan Mangan, The Pack A.D., Japandroids, and You Say Party! We Say Die!
